PTI Ready to Take “Two Steps Forward” if Government Moves First: Junaid Akbar

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and Member National Assembly Junaid Akbar has said that restrictions on the party’s founder are unjustified, adding that if the government takes one step forward, PTI is willing to take two.
Speaking to the media near Adiala Jail, Junaid Akbar said the government has been continuously disqualifying PTI’s MNAs, while denying the party founder a meeting for 29 days is sheer injustice.
He said political restrictions are unacceptable, adding that the government does not allow PTI to speak in the assembly and their speeches are not broadcast. “Political activity has been halted in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan,” he added.
Junaid Akbar stated that ignoring public opinion harms state institutions. “Seventy to eighty percent of the youth support the party founder. The gap between the state and the people is widening. Institutions can only be strengthened when the public stands with them.”
The PTI provincial president further said they protected their votes on February 8, claiming the government is trying to control both social and mainstream media. He expressed regret that the Chief Minister is being targeted during press conferences.
