Quetta Local Body Elections: Government’s “Control Room” in Civil Secretariat Under Fire, PTI Will Block Imposed Councillors – Nasrullah Zare

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) – **Nasrullah Khan Zare**, Provincial President of the **Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP)**, along with Provincial Deputy Secretary Abdul Razaq Khan Barich, criticized the ruling party for allegedly manipulating the ongoing local body elections in Quetta.

Addressing public gatherings in **Union Council 44 and UC 34**, Zare said local bodies play a vital role in public welfare and service delivery, but ministers and government-backed candidates are exploiting state resources, while the **Election Commission remains a silent observer**. He claimed that under the provincial government’s supervision, the ruling party has established an **election control room in the Civil Secretariat**, undermining the principles of free, fair, and impartial elections.

Speaking at the events, Zare warned that PNAP would **not allow councillors imposed through Form 47** to take office and urged the public to exercise their independent choice in selecting representatives. The gatherings were also addressed by district assistant secretary Haji Abdul Salam Barich, Muhammad Rasool Tarin, Ghani Khan Mehmood, and Malik Abdul Malik Drani. Provincial Deputy Secretary Ali Muhammad Tarin and several PNAP candidates from UC 34 and UC 44 participated in the inauguration of the party’s election office.

Zare emphasized that PNAP’s candidates are entering the elections with **new energy and political commitment**, confronting corruption, commission-seeking officials, and local mafia networks who aim to seize local body institutions with government backing. He demanded that the **Election Commission of Pakistan, Provincial Election Commissioner, District Election Commissioner, and Returning Officers** take immediate action against ministers and MPs misusing official resources to influence the election.

The party vowed to ensure that **elections remain transparent** and that the public freely exercises its democratic rights.
