Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Rejects KP Assembly Resolution on Provincial Division, Calls It a Conspiracy Against Hazara Region

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily)** – The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP) strongly condemned a recent resolution by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly regarding the possible division of the province, calling it a “grave anti-Pashtun step” and an “unforgivable act.” The party held all assembly members supporting the resolution responsible for standing against Pashtun history, unity, and national identity.

In an official statement from its central secretariat, the PNAP emphasized that the historic Hazara region has been an integral part of Pashtunkhwa for centuries and a key center for the Pashtun Afghan community. The statement highlighted that the local population includes tribes such as Ghorgoosh, Tarin, Panri, Yusufzai, and others, and that Hindko is considered one of the national languages of Pashtunkhwa. Additionally, Gujjar and other communities were recognized as part of the province’s demographic fabric.

The party argued that the longstanding national demand of the Pashtun people has been the abolition of colonial-era divisions and the creation of a unified, empowered province extending from Bolan to Chitral by incorporating Attock, Mianwali, and southern Pashtunkhwa. Such a province would grant Pashtuns the same constitutional and national rights as Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.

According to the PNAP, the proposal to create a separate Hazara province is part of a colonial-style conspiracy aimed at bringing the region under federal control, thereby jeopardizing its national identity and natural resources. The statement further criticized the federal government, claiming that while rulers lack the courage to divide Punjab, Sindh, or Balochistan, they persist in attempts to further divide Pashtunkhwa, which the party called “unacceptable.”

The PNAP urged assembly members to defend the unity, identity, and resources of Pashtunkhwa rather than fragment it. The party demanded the withdrawal of the resolution and an apology to the public, calling on all democratic and nationalist forces to play their part in thwarting this alleged colonial plan. The statement concluded with a warning that the people of Pashtunkhwa will not hesitate to make sacrifices to protect their historic homeland.
