Balochistan Government Adopts Zero Tolerance Against Illegal Smuggling and Crime, CM Sarfraz Bugti Says

Quetta: Under the leadership of Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial government has intensified its crackdown on illegal smuggling and criminal activities, maintaining a strict zero-tolerance policy against lawbreakers. A high-level meeting of the Provincial “Harden the State” Committee was held to review law and order and assess the implementation of targets set by national and provincial action committees.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hamza Shafqat briefed the committee on ongoing operations against extremist groups, including Fatah al-Hindustan and Fatah al-Khawarij. He reported that over 200 operations were conducted against criminal elements in the Kachhi district, while more than 100 terrorists were neutralized in northern areas.
Key achievements of the government’s crackdown include:
* 3,561 illegal petrol pumps sealed across the province.
* 2,575 operations conducted by customs authorities, resulting in the seizure of 416 non-duty-paid vehicles over three months.
* Accelerated registration and regulation enforcement of madrassas to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
Chief Minister Bugti expressed satisfaction with the progress in restoring law and order and curbing illegal smuggling. He emphasized that all decisions and targets set by the national and provincial action committees would be fully implemented, reiterating that zero tolerance would be enforced against crime, lawlessness, and unrest.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat, and senior security officials.
