JI Presents Balochistan’s Case at Minar-e-Pakistan Gathering, Urges Government to Respect Provincial Rights

Quetta — Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, highlighted the grievances and demands of the province before hundreds of thousands of participants at the concluding session of the three-day *All Pakistan Ijtema-e-Aam* at Minar-e-Pakistan. Attendees and party leaders stood in support and pledged full cooperation.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch said that the people of Balochistan continue to face systemic marginalization, including enforced disappearances, imprisonment of political activists advocating for legitimate rights, restricted access to provincial resources, and exclusion from the benefits of projects such as **CPEC, Sindh-Rikodak**, and others. He criticized the proliferation of check posts and the imposition of governance by the establishment rather than elected civil authorities.
He urged the federal government not to treat Balochistan as an occupied territory, but instead to grant its people **respect, education, employment, and economic rights**. He noted that Islamabad’s authorities have blocked borders, highways, and trade routes, restricted protests, and imposed unofficial limitations on democratic and political expression, leaving ordinary citizens deprived of basic services and employment.
The JI leader also condemned the extrajudicial detentions of innocent individuals, saying they are denied both legal recourse and information regarding alleged offenses. He reminded the audience that Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan had previously conducted a **long march from Quetta to Islamabad** to press for these rights; despite the government requesting six months to address the demands, no action has been taken.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami is once again presenting the **charter of rights and legitimate demands** of Balochistan before the public, urging the government to recognize and fulfill them to ensure justice and equality for the province’s people.
