KP Chief Minister Protests to Maryam Nawaz Over Obstacles to Imran Khan’s Visits, Mistreatment of Sisters; Raises Four Demands

PESHAWAR / LAHORE: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi has formally written to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, expressing strong concern and protest over alleged obstruction of meetings with former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail and reported mistreatment of his family members.

In the letter, the KP Chief Minister condemned what he termed violations of court orders and the act of making Imran Khan’s sisters sit on the road outside the jail, calling it against human and moral values. He presented four key demands: immediate compliance with court directives, accountability of officials involved in misconduct, issuance of clear instructions to jail authorities, and the establishment of a dignified and transparent system for arranging visits.

Afridi emphasized that the KP government stands on Imran Khan’s mandate and therefore expects the Punjab government to take swift action to ensure the protection of his and all citizens’ fundamental rights.
