Cold and Dry Weather Expected Across Most Parts of the Country: PMD

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast **cold and dry weather** in most parts of the country, while upper and mountainous regions are expected to remain **very cold**.

According to the PMD, **plain areas of Punjab** are likely to experience **smog**, with **light fog** expected at a few places during morning and night hours. **Skardu** recorded the **lowest temperature at –7°C**, making it one of the coldest regions in the country.

During the past 24 hours, most parts of Pakistan remained dry, while hilly areas experienced cold conditions. Light fog persisted in a few districts of central and southern Punjab.

Meanwhile, **air pollution in Lahore continues to worsen**, with the provincial capital ranking as the **second most polluted city in the world**. The city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at **337**, placing it in the hazardous category.
