Imran Khan Taken to Another Hospital in Darkness, Sister Kept in Separate Room, Alleges Mahmood Achakzai

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai has expressed serious concerns over the medical examination of PTI founder Imran Khan and the country’s political situation, alleging that certain elements within the government are deliberately sabotaging efforts to create an atmosphere for dialogue with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Achakzai said people across Pakistan were pleased when reports emerged that Imran Khan would be shifted to Shifa International Hospital under the Supreme Court’s orders.
“Later at night, we came to know that he had been taken to another hospital in the darkness,” he said. Achakzai further alleged that during the process, Imran Khan’s sister was kept locked in another room at the hospital.
The opposition leader strongly criticized the government, alleging that there were “black sheep” and other elements within the administration who were deliberately working to sabotage relations and dialogue between the government and PTI.
Referring to the recent incident in Saranan, Achakzai expressed concern that no one had paid attention to what happened there. He alleged that such actions were also the result of elements within the government attempting to undermine political stability.
Achakzai said whenever an atmosphere conducive to dialogue and negotiations began to develop in the country, certain forces became active and attempted to sabotage the process.
He stressed the need to preserve an environment for political dialogue and negotiations to address the country’s ongoing political challenges.
