PTI Leader Asad Qaiser Criticizes 27th Amendment, Says Only “Allah’s Court” Remains

Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has strongly criticized the 27th constitutional amendment, claiming that it has placed the judiciary under the control of the administration, leaving only “Allah’s court” for justice.

Speaking to the media during a court appearance, Asad Qaiser said the amendment provides nothing for the public and will force people to struggle for justice. He questioned the effectiveness of judges transferred from Peshawar to Islamabad or Punjab, stating that such changes affect their ability to perform duties independently.

He further alleged that the amendment was pushed through due to pressure on two senators, contrasting it with the 18th amendment, which was a consensus among all political parties. Qaiser described the 1973 Constitution as a legacy of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and accused current leadership, including Bilawal Bhutto, of undermining that legacy. He also criticized Emal Wali for supporting the 27th amendment and mentioned that Saifullah Abro had been expelled from the party, with action pending against him.

Qaiser also spoke about an upcoming traditional *jirga*, expressing hope that all political factions would participate to help stabilize relations with Afghanistan.

Earlier, during a hearing in the Peshawar High Court, Justices Syed Arshad Ali and Muhammad Faheem Wali approved Qaiser’s petition seeking details of cases filed against him. The court ordered that he should not be arrested in any pending cases and requested reports from the relevant authorities.
