Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani Launches Political Campaign Against Mines and Minerals Act
Calls on National Parties to Ensure People’s Control Over Balochistan’s Resources

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily)** – Senior Balochistan politician and former senator Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani has launched an organized political campaign to highlight public concerns over the Mines and Minerals Act at the national level.
As part of the initiative, Raisani has written letters to the heads of various political parties, urging them to play an active role in upcoming legislation to safeguard Balochistan’s national rights.
On Sunday, under his direction, a delegation led by Mir Muhammad Ishaq Lehri delivered a letter addressed to National Party President and former Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch. The letter was handed over to the party’s Central Secretary General, Mir Kabir Ahmed Muhammad Shahi. During the meeting, the contents and significance of the letter were discussed in detail.
In his letter, Haji Lashkari Raisani stated that the existing and proposed Mines and Minerals legislation conflicts with the interests of the people of Balochistan. He emphasized that the province’s mineral resources are the collective property of its people, and any legislation concerning them must be framed in consultation with the province.
He warned that excluding local communities and representative political parties from the legislative process would be unjust and contrary to the spirit of the Constitution of Pakistan.
Raisani appealed to all national political parties to adopt a unified stance—both in parliament and among the public—to protect Balochistan’s rights, asserting that the Mines and Minerals Act must not be allowed to become a tool of federal domination.
He further announced that in the coming days, he will engage with leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Balochistan National Party, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, and other groups to ensure that any legislation reflects the collective interests of the people of Balochistan.
