Karachi Police Arrest ‘Masi Gang’ Leader with Interpol’s Help

Karachi: In a major breakthrough, **Karachi Police**, with the assistance of **Interpol**, arrested the **ringleader of the notorious “Masi Gang”**, which was involved in a series of thefts across multiple cities. The arrested suspect, **Imran son of Abbas Ali**, allegedly provided **transportation and logistical support** to domestic workers who carried out thefts in the homes where they were employed. Two of his female accomplices had already been arrested earlier.

According to details, Interpol **arrested Imran in Saudi Arabia** after Karachi Police issued a **red warrant** against him. The suspect was handed over to **Pakistani authorities in Islamabad on Sunday** after serving **a nine-month prison sentence in Saudi Arabia** under local laws. Following his extradition, he was transferred to **Bin Qasim Investigation Police** for further interrogation.

DSP Investigation **Shahnawaz Memon** told *Express News* that **Imran ran the Masi Gang** in **Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad**. The gang’s female domestic workers would first gain employment in households and then **steal cash and jewelry**, while **Imran provided them transportation and other facilities**.

Police revealed that the gang was **involved in thefts in Darakhshan and Steel Town**, including one at the residence of a **female political leader, Saadia Javed**, in Darakhshan. The suspect had allegedly used the **proceeds of the thefts** to obtain an **independent visa** before fleeing to Saudi Arabia.

Two of the gang’s members, identified as **Shahida** and **Gulab Zadi**, were previously arrested. Police sources confirmed that **Imran also faces multiple criminal cases in Punjab** and is **wanted by Punjab Police** as well. The suspect will be **presented before the Malir court** for remand proceedings.
