Nationwide Crackdown Against Drug Smuggling: Millions Worth of Narcotics Seized, 11 Arrested

Over 107 Kilograms of Drugs Seized in Nine Operations, Criminal Cases Filed Against 11 Suspects

Islamabad: In a major operation against drug smuggling, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a nationwide crackdown, arresting 11 suspects in nine separate raids across various cities. The operations resulted in the seizure of over 107 kilograms of narcotics, valued at more than 21.5 million Pakistani Rupees.
According to the ANF spokesperson, one of the key operations took place in a courier office in Chaklala, where 84 grams of liquid hashish was found in a parcel sent from the UK to Rawalpindi. The suspect involved was immediately arrested.
In another operation near the Harappa Toll Plaza in Sahiwal, 4 kilograms of opium, 2 kilograms of hashish, and 500 grams of ice were seized from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of three suspects. In Pishin district of Balochistan, a car was intercepted on Saranan Road, where 45 kilograms of opium were recovered, and one suspect was detained.
In Islamabad, near Tarnol, 25 kilograms of opium and 22.8 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a truck, with one person arrested. Similarly, in Kohat, 2 kilograms of opium were seized from a motorcyclist along the Indus Highway, while a passenger bus near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza was found to be carrying 2 kilograms of ice, and another passenger’s bag contained 1.808 kilograms of heroin.
In Peshawar, authorities seized 1.3 kilograms of heroin from a vehicle near Ring Road, and in Attock, 710 grams of opium were found in a passenger’s bag at the Burhan Toll Plaza.
All arrested individuals have been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway.
