Indian Statements Indicate Plans for Another Misadventure, Says Defence Minister Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Defence Minister **Khawaja Asif** has warned that **recent statements from Indian officials suggest New Delhi may attempt another military misadventure** to restore its lost prestige after past humiliation.

Speaking to **Geo News**, Khawaja Asif said that **India’s rhetoric is evidence** of its aggressive intentions, but warned that **any future provocation would receive an even stronger response** from Pakistan.

“India suffered disgrace before, and in an attempt to regain its lost honor, it may take such steps again,” the minister said. “However, this time, **India will be given a more forceful and decisive reply**.”

Commenting on regional relations, Asif said that **ties with Afghanistan are deteriorating**, adding that Afghanistan is **“exporting terrorism into Pakistan.”** He emphasized that while Pakistan seeks **peaceful and dignified relations as good neighbors**, the current situation is concerning.

He also noted that in areas where **terrorists find shelter inside Pakistan**, local residents are often aware of their presence. “If people remain silent about such outsiders, it amounts to partial consent,” he stated, adding that **the government will not allow any harm to patriotic citizens**.

Referring to India’s leadership, Asif said, “Any illusion or misunderstanding India had has now been cleared.”

The minister’s remarks come after **India’s Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi** and the **Indian Defence Minister** recently made **provocative statements against Pakistan**, warning Islamabad to stop alleged support for terrorism — rhetoric Pakistan has strongly rejected.
