Fawad Chaudhry Slams Senator Afnanullah’s Demand for Action Against Ramiz Raja

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has strongly criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Afnanullah for demanding action against renowned cricket commentator and former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja.
During a television programme, Senator Afnanullah called on the PCB to take immediate action against Ramiz Raja, alleging that he repeatedly brings up former prime minister Imran Khan while appearing on cricket and other platforms. He argued that sports and commentary platforms should not be used for political purposes.

Reacting strongly to the senator’s remarks, Fawad Chaudhry accused the PML-N leadership of adopting an increasingly restrictive political approach.
“Those people want Ramiz Raja to be silenced, the entire international media to be silenced, and even the 85 percent of voters who rejected them through the ballot box to be silenced,” Fawad said.
He further criticized the government, alleging that such demands reflected a desire to turn the entire country into a “graveyard” and hand complete control of the state to those in power.
