Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Defense Pact Signals Strategic Shift, Says Balochistan Governor

Quetta:Governor Balochistan **Jaffar Khan Mandokhail** has hailed Pakistan’s diplomacy as being at its peak, pointing to Islamabad’s strong relations with the **U.S., China, Western powers, and Gulf states**. He emphasized that the newly signed **Pakistan-Saudi Arabia defense agreement** has created ripples on the global stage, cementing Pakistan’s role as the **only Muslim nuclear power**.

According to the governor, the pact ensures **mutual defense**, meaning an attack on one state will be considered an attack on both. He said the agreement reflects decades of **historic brotherhood and Islamic solidarity**, while also boosting Pakistan’s economic stability.

Mandokhail noted that the pact strengthens the defense of **Makkah and Madinah**, forming the bedrock of Saudi-Pakistan ties. He suggested it could expand to include other Gulf states, especially in light of recent attacks on Qatar, which he claimed exposed Israel as a direct threat to the Muslim world.

He further credited **Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s team** and **Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir** for enhancing Pakistan’s global stature, saying Muslim nations now look to Pakistan as their **primary security guarantor**.
