JUI-B Leader Maulana Abdul Waseh Calls for Unity, Warns of Deepening Crisis in Balochistan

Quetta — Maulana Abdul Waseh, provincial head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), urged political unity and a return to principled politics while warning that administrative, economic, social and political crises in Balochistan are worsening. Speaking in a statement, he said the party remains committed to the ideals passed down by its founding scholars and called on leaders to prioritize the nation over personal power.

Maulana Waseh praised the legacy of senior ulema — including Maulana Qasim Nanotvi, Maulana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi and Maulana Mahmood al-Hasan — saying their example teaches that compromise is unacceptable on the path of truth. He said JUI’s politics is not a pursuit of power for its own sake but a struggle for the stability and progress of the country.

He highlighted JUI’s long-standing work for protecting Islamic values, defending religious rights, uniting scholars, establishing Sharia institutions, and promoting education and social reform. Maulana Waseh said the party also seeks stronger bonds of fraternity with Muslims worldwide while fostering lawful harmony with non-Muslim citizens at home.

Referring to party leadership, he described Maulana Fazlur Rehman as a worthy successor to the party’s tradition and praised his defence of madrasas, mosques and Islamic principles both inside parliament and on the public stage. He warned forces that resort to violence and conquest in the modern age that such actions are destructive to human conscience and global peace.

On the province’s political situation, Maulana Waseh criticized the ruling class for ignoring JUI’s constructive proposals to resolve crises and said delays have converted problems into mountains that now hinder development and public safety. He appealed for leaders to abandon personal interests, unite under a common vision, restore genuine popular representation, and act decisively to prevent future generations from inheriting a fractured province.
