Balochistan CM Orders Treatment of Acid Attack Victim at Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has ordered that a woman allegedly affected by an acid attack in Mastung be provided treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi at the government’s expense, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information and Political Affairs Shahid Rind said.

The chief minister directed the authorities to take immediate measures for the treatment of the affected woman, identified as Bibi Laiba, wife of Kaleemullah. Following his instructions, an official letter has been issued for her treatment at Aga Khan Hospital Karachi to ensure that she receives better and more advanced medical facilities.

Shahid Rind said the affected woman would be provided with the best possible medical care and that the government would take all necessary measures in this regard.

He said an FIR had been registered over the incident that occurred in the Killi Babri area of Mastung, while police were continuing their investigation.

The woman would also be provided complete legal assistance along with medical treatment, Rind said.

He stressed that violence against women and incidents involving acid attacks were completely unacceptable. Those found involved in such acts would face action in accordance with the law, he added.

Shahid Rind said all relevant institutions would play their role in ensuring the victim’s treatment and protection, while the investigation into the incident would proceed strictly according to the law.
