Floods Ravage Punjab as Ali Pur Dyke Breaches, Thousands Displaced

Lahore: Flood devastation continues across Punjab, with a major breach in the protective dyke at Ali Pur submerging dozens of villages. The collapse of the super dyke in Azmatpur has forced residents of Tehsil Ali Pur to evacuate on their own, leaving vast areas under water.

In Bahawalnagar, floodwaters have inundated 143 villages, displacing more than 100,000 people. The deluge has destroyed homes, crops, and essential infrastructure, leaving locals in dire distress.

Meanwhile, at Ganda Singh point on the Sutlej River, water levels have receded slightly but a high flood situation persists, raising fears of further inundation downstream.

In Kabirwala, an overflow from the Ravi River at Mai Saforan dyke has submerged 40 villages, displacing more than 80,000 people. Floods have caused extensive damage to farmland, residential areas, and government buildings.

Authorities warn that the situation remains critical as floodwaters continue to spread in several districts of Punjab.
