Sindh CM Warns of Super Flood, Urges Preparedness for 1.1 Million Cusecs Inflow

Kashmore: Sindh Chief Minister **Syed Murad Ali Shah** has warned that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecast an inflow of **1.1 million cusecs of water**, stressing the need to prepare for a potential **super flood**.
Speaking to the media in Kashmore, the CM said the priority is to **protect human lives and livestock**. He noted that whether the inflow reaches 900,000 or 1 million cusecs, **low-lying katcha areas will inevitably submerge**. District administrations have already been provided with all necessary information and instructions to coordinate with NDMA, he added.
Shah confirmed that the **Army is on standby** to assist in evacuation efforts, while **192 NDMA boats** will be deployed to help people relocate. He cautioned that if water levels reach 800,000–900,000 cusecs, the **Shank embankment may be at risk**, but said the government will make every effort to protect it.
“The only way to save lives and livestock is timely relocation,” the CM urged, appealing to citizens to **cooperate with authorities** during evacuations.
He further assured that once the water recedes within 48 hours, the government will expedite the return of displaced people to their homes. Those who lose houses in the katcha belt will be provided with **new homes under Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s directive**, while crop losses will also be compensated by the government.
Murad Ali Shah appealed for **patience and resilience**, assuring the public that the government stands firmly by their side during this crisis.
