Alleged FIA Raid on Jeweler’s Shop Sparks Public Outrage After Viral Video

Rawalpindi: A video allegedly showing officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducting a raid at a jeweler’s shop in Rawalpindi has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread criticism over the officials’ behavior.

In the video, several individuals appearing to be FIA personnel can be seen entering the shop and allegedly mistreating employees and customers present at the scene. Social media users have strongly criticized the conduct of the officials, particularly after footage appeared to show a shopkeeper being slapped in front of his son.

According to reports, the officials confiscated mobile phones from people inside the shop shortly after entering and began questioning them. During the search, they reportedly recovered a bag containing silver and cash.

When questioned about the silver, the shopkeeper stated that they were involved in buying and selling the metal and had not imported it illegally. He said the silver was openly available in the market and that they had purchased it through regular trade channels.

Following this exchange, one of the officials allegedly slapped the shopkeeper, prompting his son to intervene and causing a heated argument at the scene. A woman, reportedly an officer, was also seen managing the counter area, while another plainclothes official allegedly began clearing items from the counters.

The incident led to shouting and arguments between the officials and people present in the shop, with the shopkeeper insisting that the goods could not be taken away in such a manner.

After the video surfaced online, social media users condemned the alleged humiliation of citizens during the operation. Many emphasized that while law enforcement agencies have the authority to conduct raids and investigations, disrespecting and physically assaulting citizens — especially in front of family members — is unacceptable.
