Acting US Envoy Meets Interior Minister; Discussion Held on Wanted Individuals and Bilateral Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with the Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan, Natalie Baker, where both sides discussed bilateral relations, shared interests, and matters of mutual concern.

The meeting also included talks regarding Pakistani citizens wanted in the United States. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in areas such as border security, counter-narcotics, coast guard operations, and forensic sciences.

Acting Ambassador Baker expressed sorrow over the human and financial losses caused by recent floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, extending sympathy to the victims.

During the meeting, Minister Naqvi welcomed US President Donald Trump’s recent remarks about joint efforts to enhance Pakistan’s oil reserves, terming them encouraging. He said American investors could benefit from opportunities in Pakistan’s oil and other sectors, assuring that the government would provide them with all possible facilities.

Ambassador Baker reaffirmed that the United States attaches special importance to its relationship with Pakistan and is exploring new avenues of cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Federal Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha and Additional Interior Secretary Major General Noor Wali Khan.
