MPA Gwadar Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Visits GDA, Reviews Progress on Development Projects

Gwadar:Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) **Maulana Hidayatur Rehman** met with **Director General of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Moeenur Rehman Khan** at his office to discuss ongoing and completed development initiatives under the Old Town Rehabilitation Project.
The meeting was also attended by **Chief Engineer GDA Syed Muhammad** and other senior officials. During the briefing, the MPA was updated on the recently completed development works, ongoing projects, city cleanliness efforts, and other initiatives under GDA’s mandate.
Maulana Hidayatur Rehman expressed satisfaction over the timely and high-quality execution of completed projects, praising GDA’s efforts. He emphasized the need to **accelerate the pace** of the remaining works, particularly the **completion of Government Girls School, Boys Model School, and sports grounds**, to ensure uninterrupted educational activities and youth engagement in sports.
He also proposed that GDA **initiate new urban development and beautification projects**, for which funds could be secured from both the provincial and federal governments. The MPA specifically stressed the need to modernize the **city’s main entryway from Dhor Chowk to Mulla Fazil Chowk**, as well as enhance the **interface of Dimi Zarr** to meet contemporary urban standards.
In response, DG GDA Moeenur Rehman Khan informed the delegation that work is being launched on several **new projects**, including development and beautification in **Jannat Bazaar, Shahi Bazaar, Kareem Bakhsh Ward, Nagman Ward**, and other areas. These projects aim to further improve **Gwadar’s aesthetics and basic infrastructure**.
The MPA also shared suggestions for improving the **performance of the GDA school**, to which the DG assured **practical steps** would be taken.
Both parties agreed on the importance of collective efforts to maintain **cleanliness, green spaces, and urban trees**, involving **Gwadar Municipal Corporation, district administration, other institutions, and public participation**. Citizens were urged to **dispose of waste at designated spots** instead of littering, and to support intensified campaigns against stray animals to preserve cleanliness and greenery.
