Winder Becomes Hub for Smuggling of Iranian Fuel; Public Safety at Risk

Winder – The town of Winder in Balochistan has reportedly become a major center for the smuggling of Iranian petrol and diesel, raising serious concerns over public safety and national security. According to local sources, illegal Iranian fuel is being openly offloaded through passenger coaches and trucks loaded with LPG gas arriving from the Makran region to Karachi.
The presence of both LPG gas and Iranian petrol at the same locations has created a highly dangerous environment, with residents warning that even a small spark could lead to a catastrophic explosion. Public circles have likened the situation to a “live bomb,” saying a major tragedy could occur at any moment.
Despite a government-imposed ban on the smuggling of Iranian petrol and diesel, the practice continues unchecked. Thousands of liters of illegal fuel are reportedly being transported to Winder daily, where it is sold openly through unauthorized mini petrol pumps.
This illegal trade not only poses a significant threat to human lives but is also causing substantial damage to the national economy. Residents are calling for immediate action from government authorities to dismantle the smuggling network and enforce the law. Urgent intervention is deemed essential to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law before a major disaster strikes.
