Patriotic Leadership Key to Pakistan’s Progress, Says Balochistan Governor at BUITEMS Independence Day Ceremony

QUETTA:Governor of Balochistan, Malik Abdul Jafar Khan Mandokhail, emphasized the critical role of wise and visionary leadership in overcoming economic crises and driving national development. Speaking at an Independence Day ceremony held at BUITEMS University, Governor Mandokhail called for renewed national commitment to patriotism and collective responsibility.

“Only a proactive and insightful leadership can lead the nation out of crises and onto the path of real progress,” he stated. “Celebrating Independence Day with true national spirit is not optional—it is essential.”

The event was attended by BUITEMS Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Mirwais Kasi, deans, faculty members, political leaders, and a large number of women participants.

The governor urged citizens to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s foundation. He praised BUITEMS for its environmental efforts, including the plantation of over 10,000 trees and public awareness campaigns on water conservation. “These eco-friendly initiatives will bring about a much-needed positive change,” he remarked.

He also referred to Pakistan’s past military victory over India, calling it a historic moment that uplifted the pride of the entire Muslim world. “Balochistan is the crown jewel of Pakistan, and Pakistan itself is the pride of the Muslim world,” he said.

Governor Mandokhail highlighted Pakistan’s bright future and rich natural resources, stating, “We must harness these blessings for the benefit of the nation. You are fortunate to be part of a country that offers freedom, opportunities, and expression—privileges not available to everyone globally.”

He urged the youth to understand the value of freedom, noting that it was earned through immense sacrifices. “Independence was not handed to us—it was won. It is now your responsibility to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s development.”

Addressing public sector universities, Governor Mandokhail called on vice chancellors to improve educational standards and campus environments to attract students from across the country. “Many talented but underprivileged students are forced to abandon education due to high fees. Providing quality education and modern skills is key to securing Pakistan’s future,” he said.

He concluded the event by distributing certificates and shields to distinguished students and guests, praising their achievements and encouraging continued excellence in academia and civic life.
