Merger of Levies in Sibi and Loralai Seen as Plot to Destroy Peace, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Rejects Notification

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** The **Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP)** has strongly condemned the provincial government’s notification to merge the **Levies Force into the police in Sibi and Loralai divisions**, terming it a **deliberate attempt to undermine peace** in the region.
In an official press release from the PMAP provincial secretariat, the party criticized the notification for designating Sibi and Loralai as **“A Areas”** and transferring provincial and former federal Levies personnel—including CPEC Wing staff—to the police, along with their current **positions, salaries, service structures, and benefits**. The notification also hands over all **Levies resources, budgets, weapons, ammunition, checkpoints, vehicles, records, investigative responsibilities, training institutions, and infrastructure** to the police.
The PMAP stated that it has consistently opposed **schemes aimed at dismantling the Levies Force**, which has historically played a crucial role in maintaining law and order in Balochistan, often making significant sacrifices. The party argued that **merging Levies into the police instead of providing them modern training, equipment, and resources is a flawed decision** that will create further problems over time.
The release also criticized the **government installed through Form 47**, claiming it aims to **subvert the constitution, democracy, and public rights**. PMAP called the changes in laws and regulations **unconstitutional, illegal, and undemocratic**, asserting that such a government has **no legitimate authority to make these decisions**.
According to the party, the merger appears designed to **inflate the non-developmental budget and weaken law and order in remote areas**, threatening the peace previously maintained by the Levies. PMAP demanded that the government **immediately withdraw the notification**, restore the Levies Force across the province, and equip it with **modern weapons, resources, and training** to continue its responsibilities in maintaining security.
