Mobile Internet Services Suspended Across Balochistan Over Security Concerns

Quetta:Mobile internet data services have been suspended across Quetta and the rest of Balochistan due to security concerns, according to local authorities.
As reported by private news channel Dunya News, provincial officials stated that the suspension has been enforced as a precautionary measure and may remain in effect until August 15, 2025.
According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), mobile data services have been shut down for an indefinite period in several districts including Kohlu, Chaman, Killa Abdullah, Pishin, Loralai, Ziarat, Killa Saifullah, Nushki, and Harnai.
Authorities have cited potential security threats as the reason for the move.
Meanwhile, citizens have voiced their frustration, noting that the internet blackout is severely affecting students’ ability to attend online classes. Freelancers and individuals running online businesses have also reported significant disruptions to their work.
The public is urging authorities to consider the impact of prolonged outages on education and livelihoods, and to explore alternative security measures that do not compromise digital access.
