Pak Army Denies Rumors of Field Marshal Asim Munir Becoming President

Islamabad: The Pakistan Army has firmly dismissed reports suggesting that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is set to become the President of Pakistan. In a candid interview with *The Economist*, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry labeled the rumors as “completely baseless.”
Responding to political speculation following the recent “Battle of Truth” (Ma’raka-e-Haq), DG ISPR stated, “Any talk of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir becoming the President of Pakistan is entirely false and unfounded.”
The *Economist* also highlighted recent comments by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who vowed to respond to terrorist attacks with military action. When asked how Pakistan would react to potential Indian military operations, DG ISPR replied assertively, “This time, we will start from the east of India.”
He further warned, “It will begin with a deep strike inside India, and India must understand that it can also be targeted anywhere.”
The strong statements underline heightened tensions in the region and reflect Pakistan’s assertive stance in response to India’s threats.
