PTI’s Secretary General Salman Akram Raja Urges Dialogue with Decision Makers for National Unity

Peshawar:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General, Salman Akram Raja, has urged decision-makers to engage in dialogue with PTI, stressing that the party has no conflict and shares a common future with the nation. Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Raja emphasized the need for unity, stating, “Our present and future are intertwined, and we have no dispute with anyone.”
He expressed concern over the recent court sentences, describing them as troubling and unfair. “The sentences of 10 years each are based on weak and false testimony, and it’s disheartening to see elected representatives of the nation being sentenced to such long terms,” Raja stated, adding that PTI would continue to appeal the court decisions. He also highlighted the potential erosion of judicial independence under the 26th Constitutional Amendment, stating that PTI would fight for justice on all platforms.
Regarding security concerns, Raja informed that discussions with the Chief Minister had revealed the presence of banned groups like ISIS and TTP fighters in specific areas. “We are being told that these fighters are hiding in people’s homes, using them as shields. We will not let ordinary people become shields for militants. We will ensure public safety and urge the Chief Minister to resolve the situation by gaining the trust of local communities,” Raja said.
He further added that if people wanted to temporarily relocate from areas of conflict, it should be their own decision, ensuring no forced displacement.
Raja appealed to decision-makers to sit down with PTI for the betterment of the country and economy. “We are the well-wishers of this nation. The path to national and economic prosperity lies with us. We are not separate; we share a common goal. Let’s come together, end the chaos, lawlessness, and oppression,” he urged.
The PTI Secretary General also stressed the importance of merit-based selection in the party’s nominations, acknowledging that party workers deserve priority. Raja pointed out the lack of communication with PTI’s founder for the past few weeks, and reiterated the party’s commitment to advocating for the rule of law and constitutional rights. He concluded by stating that people are living in fear due to drone attacks, highlighting the urgent need for justice and peace in the country.
