Actress Amara Chaudhry Shares Terrifying Experience of Living Alone in Karachi

Karachi/Lahore – Pakistani actress Amara Chaudhry recently opened up about a frightening personal experience of living alone in Karachi, shedding light on the challenges faced by individuals residing away from their families. Her revelation comes in the wake of a tragic incident where the decomposed body of an actress was discovered in her flat in Karachi months after her death — reigniting public discourse around the pros, cons, and often unavoidable circumstances of solitary living in urban areas.
Speaking on a private TV channel, Amara Chaudhry discussed the emotional and physical struggles associated with living alone in a big city. “Many young men and women live alone in Karachi either for work or studies, but it’s never easy,” she said. “There are moments when one feels the absence of loved ones very intensely.”
Amara, who hails from Lahore but resides in Karachi due to work commitments, recalled a particularly traumatic episode during the COVID-19 pandemic. “About two years ago, I contracted COVID-19 while I was in Karachi for a shoot. The very next day, I lost consciousness and remained unconscious for an entire day — and no one knew.”
She explained that her family, worried after not hearing from her, contacted her landlord. Assuming she had gone back to Lahore, the landlord initially dismissed the concern but eventually sent someone to check on her. That knock on the door brought Amara back to consciousness. “When I regained consciousness, I found dozens of missed calls from my family. They had already booked tickets to come to Karachi,” she said.
Amara’s story highlights the emotional toll and potential dangers of living alone, especially during times of illness or emergency. She concluded by emphasizing the importance of staying connected and checking in on loved ones who live by themselves.
