Jamaat-e-Islami to Lead Peaceful Long March Against Unemployment, Injustice, and Border Issues

Quetta, Balochistan:Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and MPA, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, has announced a peaceful long march from Quetta to Islamabad on July 25, aimed at protesting border closures, unemployment, insecurity, the lack of benefits from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and demanding the rights of the people of Balochistan. He emphasized that no obstacles would be tolerated in the path of the march, which is expected to witness thousands of participants from all districts of Balochistan.
Addressing a gathering at the “Haqq Do Kuchlak” public meeting, organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Quetta at Killi Malazai, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch stated that the peaceful, democratic protest would be a united stand by the people of Balochistan against the oppression, lawlessness, and corruption they are enduring. The rally will seek justice for missing persons, against the plunder of resources, and for the restoration of lawful trade with neighboring countries like Iran and Afghanistan, which has been suspended despite decades of peaceful trade.
Other speakers at the event, including Vice Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Hafiz Noor Ali, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Quetta Abdul Naeem Rind, and Abdul Rahim Nasir, also condemned the growing lawlessness and the difficulties facing the youth and the general public of Balochistan. They pledged to participate actively in the long march and join the resistance under Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch’s leadership to demand their rights and put an end to corruption, violence, and insecurity.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman further said, “We are exhausted from carrying the coffins of our loved ones. Our youth are missing, and their mutilated bodies are being found. Our resources are being looted, and lands are being encroached upon. Despite extreme poverty and unemployment, the people of Balochistan have been deprived of legal trade with our neighboring countries, which has been a key part of our economy for decades. We have the right to protest against this oppression, but peaceful protests are met with arrests, torture, and false cases. Enough is enough. We have decided to march to Islamabad to demand our rightful share.”
He added that the federal government’s lack of response to the grievances of the people of Balochistan has left the province’s local rulers powerless. “The path to our rights and justice runs through Islamabad. We will remain united in our struggle against oppression, lawlessness, and injustice. The voices of Balochistan will not be silenced.”
The long march is expected to be a historic and successful event, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman concluded, emphasizing that this peaceful protest will pave the way for securing the rights of the people, ending lawlessness, and bringing an end to the suffering of missing persons. The march will also call for the restoration of trade across the border, which has caused immense hardship for the people of the region.
