Theft Spree at Civil Hospital Quetta Exposes Security Lapses; Patients and Attendants Face Hardships

Quetta: A rising number of theft incidents at the Civil Hospital Quetta, the largest medical facility in Balochistan, have left poor patients and their attendants distressed and frustrated, raising serious questions over security arrangements at the hospital.
In the latest incident, a citizen reported that his motorcycle was stolen from within the hospital premises while he was accompanying his young child, who had suffered a fractured arm, for treatment. The victim said that by the time he returned after medical consultation and dressing, his vehicle had vanished.
The affected citizen expressed deep anguish, stating that while his child was already in pain, the theft further worsened his difficulties and added to his suffering.
Public circles have expressed concern over repeated theft incidents at the hospital, saying that people from remote areas come to the facility in urgent need of medical care but are instead falling victim to criminal activities operating within the premises.
The victim has demanded that authorities register an FIR immediately, take swift action against the culprits, and recover his stolen motorcycle. He stressed that such incidents at a sensitive public health facility raise serious concerns about security failures and require urgent corrective measures from the administration.
