Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Hails Trump’s Mediation Offer on Kashmir, Condemns India’s Rejection

Islamabad – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in his message on Kashmir Martyrs Day, praised the offer of mediation by US President Donald Trump as a hopeful step towards peace. However, he criticized India’s refusal to engage as a clear demonstration of its aggressive mindset.

Naqvi paid tribute to the Kashmiri martyrs who sacrificed their lives on July 13, 1931, highlighting their bravery in facing gunfire while respecting the call to prayer. He referred to the sacrifices of 22 Kashmiri martyrs as a symbol of resistance against oppression.

He described July 13, 1931, as the first toll of conscience against a system that silenced the oppressed. Naqvi drew parallels between the brutalities of the Dogra regime and India’s current repressive actions, calling them different faces of the same injustice.

The interior minister condemned the state’s suppression of beliefs, identity, and opinions in occupied Kashmir as a violation of human dignity. He compared the present Indian government’s policies under Prime Minister Modi to the oppressive Dogra rule, accusing it of continuing harsh measures against Kashmiris.

Regarding the US mediation offer, Naqvi said it opened a door for peace, but India’s rejection of the proposal closed that door, exposing its warlike mentality. He affirmed that the call for freedom, fueled by the blood of martyrs, cannot be silenced and pledged that Pakistan will remain the protector, advocate, and guarantor of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
