Lahore Airport Begins Temporary Morning Runway Closures to Reduce Bird Strike Risk

Lahore:Authorities have begun implementing scheduled morning runway closures at Lahore Airport as part of measures to reduce the risk of bird strikes and enhance flight safety.

According to airport officials, the runway will remain closed daily from **5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.** from **July 5 through September 15**, following an increase in bird activity around the airport.

The temporary closure was observed on the first day of the schedule, with operations suspended during the designated hours to ensure the safe movement of aircraft.

The **Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA)** has issued an official **Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)** informing all airlines of the temporary restrictions and directing them to adjust their flight schedules accordingly.

Airport sources said that both domestic and international airlines have rescheduled arrivals and departures originally planned during the affected hours to minimize inconvenience for passengers while maintaining safe flight operations.

Officials stated that the measure is intended to reduce the risk of bird strikes and improve the safety of passengers and aircraft. Travelers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight schedules before heading to the airport.
