Pakistan Accuses Indian Proxies of Involvement in Terrorism in Balochistan

Islamabad:** Pakistan has once again pointed to Indian involvement in the recent spate of terrorist incidents in Balochistan, claiming that Indian proxies are actively involved in fueling unrest in the region. During a weekly briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the matter, stating that India continues to interfere in Balochistan.

Khan highlighted that Pakistan has consistently raised the issue of India’s involvement in Balochistan on various international platforms, urging the global community to take note of this interference. He also drew attention to the ongoing human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir, which have persisted for decades, emphasizing the need for international attention to both issues.

“The situation in Balochistan is concerning, and Indian proxies are involved in these terrorist activities. Pakistan has been vocal in highlighting this issue at every relevant international forum,” said the spokesperson.

Addressing concerns about recent statements from Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding terrorism, Khan clarified that Pakistan’s stance on terrorism remains unchanged. “There has been no contradictory statement by Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on this matter,” he asserted.

The spokesperson also touched on Pakistan’s foreign relations, noting that China remains Pakistan’s close ally. He emphasized that there has been no shift in Pakistan’s policy regarding Taiwan, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s interest in joining the BRICS group of countries. However, Khan refrained from commenting on the latest developments related to BRICS, citing ongoing discussions.

The briefing comes in the wake of a tragic terrorist attack in the Zhob district of Balochistan, where militants abducted and executed nine passengers from a bus after confirming their identities. The victims, hailing from Punjab, were killed in the vicinity of Dub Sarh Daki. The bodies were later handed over to the administration of Dera Ghazi Khan at the Bawata border post in Punjab.

A case has been registered at the CTD (Counter-Terrorism Department) police station in Zhob, with charges of murder and terrorism under the relevant sections of Pakistan’s anti-terrorism laws.

This attack has further heightened tensions in Balochistan, and authorities are intensifying efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for the brutal act.
