KP Governor Announces Possibility of No-Confidence Motion Against Provincial Government

Peshawar: The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has stated that a no-confidence motion against the provincial government could be brought forward as soon as the opposition gains one extra member in the assembly.
In an exclusive interview with a private TV channel, Kundi clarified that the opposition had not yet made any conspiratorial moves or statements, and that the threats were being issued by the Chief Minister and his allies. He referred to statements made by Ali Amin Gandapur, who said that if the budget wasn’t passed, the constitutional path would be followed afterward.
Kundi further remarked, “We do not want Ali Amin Gandapur to lose his job and leave politics, but the opposition is not ruling out the possibility of bringing a no-confidence motion if they gain a majority.”
The Governor also mentioned that the opposition currently has 54 members in the provincial assembly after the allocation of reserved seats, which he considered a significant number. However, he added that no final decision had been made regarding the no-confidence motion yet, and the opposition was working to increase its numbers further.
“Before the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan at the federal level, we had heard similar threats, but we were ultimately successful,” said Faisal Karim Kundi.
On a separate note, Kundi praised Maulana Fazlur Rehman as a prominent political figure with a crucial role in the country’s politics. He said that they had regular meetings and discussions, emphasizing that political figures shared both joys and sorrows.
