National Party President Slams Sajid Tareen for ‘Baseless Rhetoric’ Over Minerals Bill

Quetta:President of National Party Balochistan, **Aslam Baloch**, has sharply criticized **Advocate Sajid Tareen** over his recent remarks targeting the party leadership regarding the **Minerals and Mines Bill**. In a strongly worded statement, Aslam Baloch said that Sajid Tareen’s criticism is nothing more than an attempt to “revive his dead political relevance” through media theatrics.

He pointed out that when the Minerals Bill was presented in the Balochistan Assembly, **Sajid Tareen’s party member was in Itikaf**, and during the presentation of the **Anti-Terrorism Bill**, their MPA was present in the **Opposition Chamber** but did not show up in the assembly to oppose it.

Highlighting what he called “hypocrisy and double standards,” Aslam Baloch recalled that **during the Qudoosi government**, Sajid Tareen acted as a **state lawyer against the families of missing persons**, while his party chief held the position of **Head of the Missing Persons Commission** — allegedly furthering the disappearance of people instead of resolving the issue.

He mocked Sajid Tareen’s recent media statements, saying that “living in a glass house while throwing stones at others” is both irresponsible and damaging. Regarding claims that Sajid Tareen advised Haji Lashkari Raisani about the unclear position of allied parties on the Minerals Bill, Aslam Baloch said that **his party’s past statements about Sarawan House and Lashkari Raisani are already part of public record**.

Referring to the case of **Dr. Mah Rang Baloch and other detainees**, Aslam Baloch clarified that **National Party leaders including Rahib Baledi, Nadir Chalgari, Changez Hayee Baloch, and Advocate Jaleel** submitted the petition in the High Court, while **Sajid Tareen didn’t even file a power of attorney**, yet continued media grandstanding.

He concluded by warning Tareen not to mislead the public from the comfort of his “glass palace” and emphasized that such elements are the reason why, even in the worst of times, **Balochistan’s political parties remain divided**, often instigated by individuals seeking only media limelight.
