New US Immigration Law Imposes Visa and Green Card Revocation for Supporters of Terrorism and Violence

Islamabad: A new law has been enforced by the US immigration department, which allows for the revocation of visas and green cards for individuals involved in terrorism, inciting violence, or participating in related activities.
According to media reports, the US government has taken a strong stance on immigration policies with a decisive action being implemented in July 2025. The Department of Homeland Security issued a warning message, stating that coming to the United States and staying here is a privilege, not a right.
The warning emphasized that if individuals support terrorism, incite violence, or engage in any such activities, they will no longer be eligible to remain in the US. Those found violating this rule will have their visas and green cards revoked. The White House clarified that anyone residing illegally in the country is considered a criminal, but the action is not limited to just illegal immigrants; it also includes individuals holding valid visas or green cards. Several cases have been reported where green card holders were detained during immigration raids.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also stated that if an individual comes to the US on a student visa to participate in protests, occupy buildings, or incite chaos, they will be denied a visa. Media reports suggest that the Trump administration has expedited the process of revoking visas for foreign students accused of supporting Hamas on university campuses, particularly those involved in protests or distributing flyers.
Previously, the Trump administration announced immediate changes to the green card policy, citing potential risks to public health. Under the new policy, applicants for permanent residency will now be required to submit a renewed medical examination form along with their application. The change in policy is intended to protect public health and may affect immigrants applying for status adjustment. This new rule will apply to all immigrants, including Pakistani nationals residing in the US.
