Quetta to Get 27 More Electric Buses Under Public Transport Expansion Plan
QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to introduce 27 additional electric buses on various routes in Quetta to provide citizens with modern and improved transportation facilities.
The new buses will be imported from China, while tenders for their purchase have already been issued, according to officials from the Transport Department.
New Buses to Address Transport Shortage
Transport officials said residents have been facing difficulties commuting within the city following the suspension of old local bus services. Thousands of passengers currently use Green and Pink bus services operating on different routes in Quetta.
In view of the transportation challenges, the provincial government approved the purchase of 27 more electric buses. The procurement process has now begun with the issuance of tenders.
Service to Cover Unserved Routes
According to the Transport Department, the new electric buses imported from China will operate on routes where Green and Pink bus services are currently unavailable.
Officials said the launch of the additional buses would help improve Quetta’s public transport system and provide citizens with comfortable, safe and modern travel facilities.
The initiative is expected to strengthen urban mobility in the city and offer residents a reliable alternative to traditional public transport.
