Afraasiab Khattak Honored with Tea Reception by National Party

Quetta:A special tea reception was organized at the central secretariat of the National Party in honor of senior politician and central leader of the National Democratic Movement (NDM), Afraasiab Khattak. The event was attended by Afraasiab Khattak, along with NDM’s Provincial General Secretary Mazmal Shah and other colleagues. Upon arrival at the party’s secretariat, Afraasiab Khattak was warmly welcomed by National Party’s central president and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, provincial president Aslam Baloch, and a large number of central and provincial leaders and workers.
During the event, Afraasiab Khattak, Dr. Malik Baloch, Aslam Baloch, Mazmal Shah, and Ali Ahmed Baloch addressed the gathering. Afraasiab Khattak, in his speech, expressed concerns over the diminishing effectiveness of constitutional institutions in Pakistan. He pointed out that decisions that should have been made by the Parliament are now being taken by non-constitutional bodies like the Apex Committee, Security Council, and SIFC, which hold no constitutional status. He also criticized the ongoing abductions of Baloch and Pashtun students, warning that such actions jeopardize the future of nations and are detrimental to the Federation.
He further stated that new amendment bills are being introduced to distort the Constitution and pave the way for the exploitation of national resources. Khattak warned that if the 1973 Constitution and the 18th Amendment continue to be manipulated in this manner, oppressed nations would rightfully demand equal representation in the National Assembly and financial powers for the Senate. He also accused large political parties of compromising with undemocratic forces, which has weakened their political standing, while true political leaders remain loyal to their people and are supported by the masses.
Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, during his speech, highlighted that undemocratic forces have put restrictions on essential constitutional demands such as freedom of expression, the restoration of the Constitution, and the strengthening of democracy. He expressed concerns that Parliament has been rendered powerless and questioned the credibility of the judiciary. “An undeclared martial law has been imposed, and nominal governments have no authority to even present their budgets. Corruption is rampant, and the entire budget is consumed by taxes and commissions,” he said. He emphasized that in such a scenario, it is crucial for true political parties to unite. He concluded by stating that the narrative today remains in the hands of the people and democratic forces, while the narrative of undemocratic forces has no place in the nation.
The event was also attended by prominent figures such as Mir Shaukat Bizenjo, Dr. Ishaq Baloch, Member of National Assembly Phaleen Baloch, Members of Provincial Assembly Rahmat Saleh Baloch, Kalsoom Niaz Baloch, Mir Ashraf Hussain, Dr. Saleem Kurd, Yasmin Lahri, Sadiq Khetran, Haji Saleh Baloch, and other central and provincial leadership of the party.
