Quetta Devastated Under Contractors, Fake Government Ignoring Public Issues: Abdul Khaliq Hazara

Quetta: Abdul Khaliq Hazara, Chairman of Hazara Democratic Party (HDP), along with party leaders including First Vice Chairman Mirza Hussain Hazara, Vice Chairman Azizullah Hazara, General Secretary Ahmed Ali Kohzad, Deputy Secretary Muhammad Raza Hazara, Secretary Information Qadir Ali Nail, and Organizing Secretary Ghulam Raza, criticized the administration for neglecting the needs of Quetta city.

Speaking at the inauguration of electoral offices and corner meetings for HDP candidates across various union councils, the leaders said Quetta has long suffered from a lack of local representation and attention from incompetent authorities. They accused the city of being controlled by parachute appointees and mafia-backed representatives, while mismanagement by contractors has caused widespread destruction.

The leaders stated that the so-called government and provincial assembly members are indifferent to the real issues of Quetta and the province, and have little to no engagement with ordinary citizens. As a result, the public’s basic problems continue to increase daily.

They further criticized the provincial assembly’s representation system, claiming it has deprived the Hazara community of political influence and public participation. The leaders also highlighted the unfair practice of giving disproportionate political advantage to candidates with fewer votes over those with greater public trust, undermining citizens’ confidence in democracy.

HDP emphasized that empowering local institutions and ensuring the success of genuine public representatives is crucial to restoring citizens’ trust and addressing fundamental issues. The party urged Quetta residents to vote in large numbers for its nominated candidates on **December 28** to secure meaningful representation.
