JUI Senator Slams Government Over Masoor Khan’s Death, Terms It a Failure of State Authority

Quetta:Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey, has strongly condemned the government’s inaction following the death of Masoor Khan, saying that his body has exposed the government’s false promises and empty reassurances.
In a strongly worded statement, Maulana Abdul Wasey said, *”Those seeking justice are being handed dead bodies instead of protection. This is not just a murder; it is a chilling reflection of the government’s failure to establish its writ.”*
He criticized the authorities for remaining silent spectators while abductions have become a routine matter in Balochistan. “The state’s authority has been buried; criminals roam freely while the public lives in fear,” he added.
Referring to the grieving parents of Masoor Khan, the JUI leader said, *“The parents asked for their son’s life, but the government handed them a corpse. Those who made promises during the protest are now either silent or have disappeared.”*
He accused the government of repeatedly ignoring warnings and claimed that law and order no longer exist — only terror and crime prevail. *“Traders, religious scholars, and students are all at the mercy of criminals. Being patriotic now seems like a crime, and the reward is a coffin,”* he said.
Maulana Abdul Wasey further stated that the patience of the people has worn thin and now is the time for accountability. *“Today it’s Masoor’s body. Tomorrow, it could be someone else’s. This is not just one death — it is a public declaration of the government’s criminal failure.”*
He concluded by asserting that a government that cannot protect its citizens has no moral right to rule.
