Iran Rejects Trump’s Ceasefire Claim, Says No Agreement with Israel Yet

Tehran:Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran. In a statement, Araqchi firmly denied the assertion that any formal agreement had been reached to end hostilities between the two nations.
**Iran’s Stance on Ceasefire:**
Araqchi stated, “There is no agreement yet on a ceasefire or cessation of military operations between Iran and Israel.” He emphasized that, while Iranian forces had conducted their operations, there was no official pact with Israel to stop the fighting. He also congratulated Iran’s military forces for their resilience, adding, “If Israel halts its aggression, we will have no reason to retaliate. The decision on halting military operations will be made at a later time.”
**Trump’s Earlier Claim:**
This response comes after President Trump’s announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social, where he proclaimed that “a full ceasefire agreement” had been reached between Israel and Iran. Trump went on to say that within **six hours**, both sides would complete their ongoing missions and that the war would be considered over within **12 hours**.
**Israeli Media Reports:**
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that, as of **6 AM Pakistani time**, Iran had stopped its attacks on Israel. However, the situation remains unclear, with no official confirmation from Israeli authorities regarding the halt in operations.
**Ongoing Tensions:**
Despite Trump’s optimistic announcement, the conflicting statements from both the U.S. and Iranian officials show that the situation remains volatile. While Iran has signaled its willingness to halt military actions under certain conditions, there is no official document or agreement yet in place to mark an end to the hostilities.
As the international community watches closely, the future of Israel-Iran relations remains uncertain, with both sides signaling differing positions on any potential ceasefire.
