Relief for Asad Qaiser in Azadi March Case; Court Clears Him of One Charge

Islamabad: The District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad have granted significant relief to PTI leader Asad Qaiser, acquitting him of charges in one of the two cases related to the Azadi March.
The hearing was conducted by Judicial Magistrate Azhar Nadeem, where Asad Qaiser appeared alongside his lawyer Ayesha Khalid. The court dismissed the charges against him in the case registered at the I-9 police station, while the case registered at the Margalla police station was adjourned until September 20.
Asad Qaiser faces two separate cases related to the Azadi March, one at the Margalla police station and the other at I-9 police station.
In a separate development, the District Bar Association announced a full strike on Tuesday to protest the U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. In a statement, they condemned the attack, calling it a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The statement also asserted that Iran has the right to retaliate, and the attack breaches United Nations principles. The District Bar Association expressed concerns that Israeli actions were severely endangering international peace and stability, urging the UN to intervene and find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict. The Islamabad Bar Association showed solidarity with the Iranian government and people, and the District Bar Association will observe a strike on Tuesday, June 24, in protest.
