U.S. President Reportedly Approves Iran Strike Plans: American Media Claims

Washington: The Wall Street Journal has reported that U.S. President Donald Trump has approved preliminary plans for a military strike against Iran, though a formal order for the attack has not yet been issued.
According to the report, President Trump is still waiting to see if Iran agrees to curb its nuclear program before proceeding with any military action.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that President Trump is expected to extend an invitation to Iranian officials for direct talks soon. The newspaper also claimed that Iran may accept the invitation.
President Trump recently met with his national security team to discuss the growing tensions in the Middle East, especially concerning the possibility of the U.S. entering the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict. However, no final decision has been made.
Speaking to the media, Trump said, “I may order strikes on Iran, or I may not. Nobody knows what I’m going to do.”
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked President Trump for standing with Israel, calling him “a great and loyal friend of the State of Israel.” Netanyahu stated that Israel currently faces two major threats — Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its growing ballistic missile capabilities.
United Nations Urges Restraint
UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called on world leaders to intervene diplomatically, warning that further military escalation between Iran and Israel could pose a severe threat to regional and global security.
According to a UN spokesperson, Guterres urged all parties to halt military actions and emphasized the need for de-escalation measures to pave the way for a ceasefire. The UN continues to monitor the situation closely.
