Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Rejects Balochistan Budget 2025-26 as Unrealistic and Anti-People

Quetta:The **Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party** has strongly rejected the **Balochistan Provincial Budget 2025-26**, calling it “unrealistic” and “anti-people.” According to a press release issued by the party’s provincial secretariat, the budget’s failure to address key employment-generating and production sectors, along with its alleged manipulation of figures, reflects the government’s lack of commitment to the welfare of the people of Balochistan.
The statement highlights the **total budget volume of 1028 billion rupees**, with **624 billion rupees** allocated for non-developmental expenditures, which accounts for **60.7%** of the budget. The party condemned the decision to cancel **6,000 approved government jobs**, describing it as a betrayal of the unemployed and impoverished people of the province. The statement also criticized the government’s previous claims of merit-based hiring, which, according to the party, were marred by bribery and corruption.
The press release further criticized the government for allocating only **6% of the total budget** to the **production sectors**, which are vital for increasing the province’s income. These sectors, including **agriculture, forestry, mining, industry, fisheries**, and **livestock**, have been ignored, with no plans to improve or expand them. The party warned that such neglect could undermine the province’s economic self-sufficiency and accused the government of deliberately sabotaging efforts for growth.
Additionally, the **water crisis** and **environmental challenges**, including the conservation of the province’s natural forests and wildlife, were not addressed in the budget. The party pointed out that no plans exist to tackle the worsening water shortages or the dire environmental impact in the province.
In terms of **health** and **education**, the party criticized the lack of significant improvements in the social sector, claiming both departments are on the brink of collapse. It accused the government of plotting to privatize healthcare and education services, which would further deprive the public of essential services.
The press release also questioned the government’s **mineral resource policies**, particularly the allocation of mining blocks **EL301** and **EL304** to foreign investors. The party condemned this move as an infringement on local ownership, arguing that selling the province’s natural resources to outsiders would deprive the people of Balochistan of their rightful share.
In conclusion, the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party declared that the **Balochistan government’s budget** will only serve the interests of the **political elite** and **ministers**, rather than bringing tangible progress for the people of the province.
