CM Ali Amin Gandapur Promises Tax-Free Budget, Economic Relief, and Employment Opportunities

PESHAWAR – Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has announced that the upcoming provincial budget will be tax-free, aimed at providing economic relief and creating employment opportunities for the people of the province.

Speaking to media representatives, CM Gandapur stated, “This will be a budget that offers real relief to our people and opens new avenues for jobs.” He emphasized that the province is now economically stable and independent, claiming that the federal government is seeking financial assistance from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — a sign of the province’s growing strength.

The chief minister highlighted ongoing welfare efforts, noting that the government is already offering interest-free loans to help citizens become self-reliant.

He also touched on national matters, including ongoing negotiations between the federal government and Afghanistan. Gandapur called for the inclusion of provincial representatives and local tribal leaders in these talks due to the region’s strategic and geographical relevance.

Additionally, he stressed the urgent need to resolve the long-pending issue of the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, stating that no new award has been announced for the last 15 years. He said this delay has deprived the newly merged districts (formerly FATA) of their rightful financial share, but added that a decision has finally been reached and the province is hopeful of receiving its constitutional rights soon.

The announcements signal a shift toward greater fiscal autonomy and regional involvement in national policymaking.
