Usman Dar Questions CM Maryam Nawaz Over Mother’s Arrest During Protest

Sialkot: PTI leader Usman Dar has strongly condemned the arrest of his mother, Rehana Dar, during a protest, and directed a critical question to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
In a video shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Dar expressed deep sorrow over the manner in which his 80-year-old mother was detained by Punjab police. “It was heartbreaking to see the way my brave mother was dragged and arrested. The act was shameful, disgraceful, and condemnable,” he stated.
Dar noted that his mother was fully aware of the potential consequences of participating in the protest and never considered backing down or hiding. “But the fascist way in which she was manhandled compels me to ask the government and Maryam Nawaz: Has the sanctity of a mother become so fragile in this state?”
He further criticized the continuous mistreatment of women by law enforcement, asking, “Can a few police officers now drag any mother by her collar whenever they wish? This is not the first time. Women have been facing such brutality repeatedly.”
Dar warned that the ongoing injustice against mothers, sisters, and daughters will be held accountable, saying, “A time of reckoning is near, and justice will prevail.”
