KP Finance Advisor Announces 40% Tax Revenue Growth, No New Taxes in Upcoming Budget

PESHAWAR – Muzzammil Aslam, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Finance, has made a key announcement regarding the province’s financial performance. He revealed that the province saw a 40% increase in tax revenue during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, compared to the previous year. Additionally, non-tax revenue also witnessed a remarkable increase of over 50%.
Aslam stated that the government has set a target to achieve an additional 40% revenue growth for the next fiscal year. However, he clarified that no new taxes will be imposed in the province.
“Our focus will be on expanding the tax net and ensuring effective implementation of the existing system to move towards financial self-reliance,” he said.
The finance advisor also reassured taxpayers, confirming that no additional burden will be placed on the citizens of the province. The government is working to make the current tax system more transparent and user-friendly.
This announcement, made ahead of the upcoming provincial budget, is being seen as a balanced effort to maintain financial stability while providing relief to the public.
