No Final Decision Made on Termination of Pakistan-India Agreements: Foreign Office

Islamabad: The Foreign Office of Pakistan has clarified that no final or formal decision has been made regarding the termination of bilateral agreements between Pakistan and India.
A senior official from the Foreign Office stated that Pakistan has not taken any official step to end any agreement with India, emphasizing that, for now, all bilateral accords remain intact.
This clarification comes after recent remarks by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, who, in an interview amid rising tensions with India, said that the Simla Agreement is effectively nullified and that the Line of Control (LoC) now serves as a ceasefire line.
He further added that Pakistan has reverted to the pre-1948 position regarding Kashmir, asserting that post-1948 developments related to a plebiscite are no longer valid due to India’s actions, rendering the Simla Agreement obsolete.
