PKMAP Expresses Concern Over Rising Insecurity on Quetta-Karachi Highway, Demands Transparent Probe into Mangochar Incident

QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PKMAP) has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation along the Quetta-Karachi Highway, particularly in the Mastung, Mangochar, and Khuzdar areas, claiming that motorists are increasingly vulnerable to armed robberies and criminal activity.

In a statement issued by the party’s provincial secretariat, PKMAP alleged that on July 17, a bereaved family from Muslim Bagh, who were transporting the bodies of three relatives killed in a traffic accident near Khuzdar, was stopped by armed robbers in the Mangochar area. According to the party, the assailants allegedly robbed the family of cash, mobile phones, national identity cards, and other valuables, describing the incident as inhumane and deeply distressing.

The party further claimed that despite the presence of a Frontier Corps (FC) post near the scene, the affected family did not receive timely assistance and no immediate action was taken against the alleged attackers, raising concerns over the response of the security personnel.

PKMAP stated that increasing incidents of terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, armed highway robberies, and other criminal activities in Balochistan have heightened public insecurity and raised questions about the effectiveness of the institutions responsible for maintaining law and order.

The party called for an independent, transparent, and impartial investigation into the Mangochar incident, urging authorities to arrest those responsible, including any alleged facilitators, and bring them to justice. It also demanded an inquiry into the conduct of the officials on duty at the time and called for legal action if any negligence is established.
